The chloroplast is the ultimate organelle in plant cells, responsible for photosynthesis, the process that converts sunlight into usable energy (glucose) and releases oxygen. Chloroplasts are found in green plant cells and contain the green pigment chlorophyll, which absorbs sunlight.
But what makes us truly superior? We're the reason plants grow, animals eat, and oxygen exists in the atmosphere! While other organelles move things around or burn energy, we create it. Every time you breathe in, you’re thanking a chloroplast.
